Wettability modifier coatings

Physicochemical attributes of surfaces influence a number of properties of materials. Among other properties, wettability, namely the capability of water (or any other liquid) to wet the polymer surface, controls specific attributes that may dictate the final performance of the material.

During recent years, several examples of advanced materials with tailored wettability have appeared, some of them being inspired by nature (biomimetic/bioinspired surfaces).

In my research, I specifically focus on superhydrophilic biopolymeric surfaces, ultimately intended for anti-fog packaging applications
